The Wedding Dress

The Wedding Dress chronicles the story of a dress that was first worn in 1884, then packed away for 62 years. It was discovered and worn again by the original bride's granddaughter in 1946, then by 4 great granddaughters in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. In 2007, it was worn by the first great great granddaughter.

The very idea of the film implies a journey through time, as the dress has outlived any human. In 126 years, the dress, a most romantic and feminine symbol, has witnessed huge social change in women's lives and roles. It has held the bodies of 7 women over 5 generations and will continue to do so in the future. The dress exists in striking contrast to today's stubborn march towards the disposable.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TGiqef2Fp0
